THE HEN

I don't really like Hen Do's.  They bring out the worse in the British:  Big groups of women, behaving badly, drinking to much and walking around in silly scantily clad clothing!  This time though it was my mum's Hen, so I could hardly refuse.  My mum, has finally after 25 years together with her partner decided to get married and because my family don't do anything by halves, we had the Hen in Puerto Banus in Spain, in a massive villa!  On paper Puerto Banus is my worse nightmare:  Loads of of Brits with too much money and absolutely no class, and in reality it is all those things and worse!  All that said I had a great time, because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter where you are.  It matters who you are with and I was with great family and friends and even though I have realised that I am totally different from the rest of my family over the years, with my taste and what I do,  that doesn't mean that I can't have a good time with them.  Besides nothing really matters when you have a few drinks inside of you.

Me, a glass of wine, sun and a pool:  The life I was born to have!

OBSERVATIONS

  • I think it must be the law to look like you have been tangoed in Puerto Banus.  Even the guys.  So orange.  Not attractive.  God!  The men were so disgusting and in love with themselves.
  • Whats the point of going to Spain and only seeing British people. There everywhere, to the point that I don't think any Spanish people live there anymore?
  • I nearly died when they told me, but it seems that some people in bars can live with themselves by charging people 200 Euros for a bottle of Vodka.  CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!

YORKSHIRE

Sorry I haven't really done any posts in a while, but I have been up north in Yorkshire filming, in the middle of nowhere without any internet!  We were in the most beautiful town of Pickering in the Yorkshire Dales, doing a new BBC drama called "Accidental Farmer", with the lovely actress Ashley Jensen.  It was great fun, though I did spend most of my time putting mud and cow shit on the costumes and being slightly scared by some of the local farmers, who seemed quite mad.  All good fun though, with the sun shining, a hot tub in the cottage we were staying in and a great pig called Pinky who stole the show, and who's owners assured us, that she would not be turned into bacon when filming had finished?  God! I love my job when its in places as beautiful as this.

BAD CAT!

This is a video of Alex my housemate finding our naughty cat, Cassius raiding the bin again!  Oh! She keeps calling him 100 as thats her nick name for him as he is 100m miles per hour in everything he does.  Please note the velcro on the bin which was put on as we got a push down bin as he had managed to get in all the other bins we had.  He figured out the push bin within an hour and now it looks like he's figured out the velcro too.  A pad lock next, I think?  Oh and yes!  That is Alex's voice and yes!  I never thought a human voice could get that high pitched either! Crazy.

ANYONE FOR A SPOT OF TABLE TENNIS?

I got home the other night to find the housemates had converted the dining table into a table tennis court, just because they could.  It turned out to be great fun actually, though I was really shit as I had been out drinking with friends and my vision wasn't great (Well thats my excuse anyway).  I thing we will make it a regular thing and I'll try not be drunk next time?

ON THE HEATH

The other weekend when the weather still felt like summer we ventured out of the wick and over to Hampstead Heath.  In the whole seven years I have been in London, I have never been to Hampstead Heath, but have always wanted to.  You see there is more to Hampstead Heath than MP's getting caught in bushes with their pants down.  It has some of the best views over London, and Ponds that you can swim in, three in fact.  After what seemed like an age of getting all our stuff and people together, we along with Hippy the dog got the train straight to Hampstead, which seemed like heaven because we have had no bastard trains from Hackney Wick since before Christmas!  To get those beautiful views though there is a slight problem!  You have to walk up a hill!  This isn't so easy when its hot, you have a huge picnic to carry and a dog that keeps running off and trying to hump everything in sight!  We eventually made it to a great spot where we drank, ate and sunbathed the afternoon away, and were only interrupted by a slight down pour where we all hid under the trees.  As the sun went down we headed to the pub where we later nicked our wine glasses to take home as we have smashed so many in the house recently there are hardly any left.  Please don't think me a thief, we are in a recession and times are hard so you have to do these things!
